I am joining MIT (dept: Media Lab) as an assistant professor and launching a new research group: Nano-Cybernetic Biotrek (NCB) at MIT in 2019. Postdoc/ Lab-Manager/ Scientist/ Technician

NCB has an opening for postdoc/lab manager/scientist. Experience sought in one or more of the following areas: electrophysiology, animal surgery, brain stimulation, implants and brain activity recording. Details can be found HERE

The personnel in this position is expected to actively participate in research and author/co-author papers similar to a postdoc. A PhD degree is preferred but an experienced student will also be considered. 

 

Graduate Students

NCB is looking for students with background/interests  in the specific areas given below. Apart from the following areas, NCB is also open to  enthusiastic and passionate students in electrical, bio, chemical, mechanical, materials engineering, applied physics and related fields.

  • Electromagnetism, Antennae, RFID, wireless sensing, RF circuit design
  • Electronic devices, MOSFETs, solid state physics, electronic circuits
  • magnetic materials and devices, magnetics, spintronics
  • nano-materials, polymer chemistry, drug delivery   
  • biomedical devices, wearable, implants, prosthetics
  • brain activity recording, brain stimulation

 

Required

  • Strong grasp of fundamentals in one of the above areas

 

Preferred

  • Nanofabrication skills​
  • Device design/modeling experience
  • Experience in animal surgery, implanting devices, 
  • Experience in recording with electrodes, patch clamp
  • Experience in cell culture, genetic engineering, protein engineering
